At Helixona, our values are not slogans on a wall—they are lived, practiced, and reflected in how we care for our patients and how we treat one another. These principles guide every decision we make and anchor us in the mission that brought us together.
We lead with confidence but without ego. We listen first, ask questions, and remain teachable—recognizing that healing requires curiosity, openness, and wisdom, not hierarchy.
We do what is right, even when it is difficult or unseen. We hold ourselves to a high standard of honesty, clarity, and accountability, because our patients place extraordinary trust in us.
We show up each day to serve—our patients, our colleagues, and the mission. We support one another, celebrate each other’s strengths, and recognize that true leadership is rooted in care, not titles.
We understand that both patients and team members bring their full lives with them. We meet people with empathy, patience, and presence. Healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood.
We commit to mastery—of our craft, our communication, our systems, and our standards. Our patients are navigating complex challenges, and they deserve the very best from us, every time.

Helixona | Irvine, California
Some clinicians enter medicine to treat symptoms.
Others enter medicine to solve the deeper puzzle of why people are sick.
Helixona was built for the latter.
Our clinic exists to care for patients living with complex chronic illness—individuals who often arrive after years of searching for answers. Many have seen numerous specialists and have been told their tests are normal despite ongoing symptoms that profoundly affect their lives.
At Helixona, we believe medicine should look deeper.
Our clinical philosophy is guided by three principles:
ELIMINATE. NOURISH. REPAIR.
We identify and remove harmful factors such as infections, toxins, and inflammatory triggers. We restore the nutrients, oxygen, and metabolic support the body needs to recover. And we work to repair systems that have become dysregulated—including neurological, immune, and mitochondrial function.
This systems-based framework allows us to approach complex conditions such as mold illness, Lyme disease, mast cell activation syndrome, autoimmune disorders, chronic fatigue, and post-viral syndromes with clarity and structure.
For clinicians who enjoy investigative medicine and meaningful patient relationships, this work can be deeply rewarding.
Helixona is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) who is passionate about integrative medicine and interested in working with patients facing complex chronic illness.
Patients establish care with our Medical Director during their initial diagnostic visits. After the treatment plan is established, the Advanced Practice Provider plays an essential role in helping guide patients through their healing process.
This includes follow-up visits, monitoring progress, reviewing laboratory findings, adjusting therapies within physician-guided care plans, and collaborating closely with the care team to ensure patients remain supported throughout their treatment.
Our goal is to provide patients with frequent clinical touchpoints while maintaining physician oversight for complex medical decision-making.
This is not a high-volume, transactional medical environment.
Our patients are medically complex and often arrive after years of unresolved illness. Care requires thoughtful observation, careful interpretation of evolving symptoms, and a systems-level understanding of physiology.
Healing chronic illness rarely follows a straight line. The right clinician will find this work intellectually engaging and meaningful.
Appointments often focus on:
• Monitoring how patients respond to therapy
• Interpreting changing symptom patterns
• Adjusting treatment plans thoughtfully
• Encouraging patients through difficult phases of recovery
• Partnering with patients in a long-term healing process
Helixona focuses on patients with complex, multi-system illnesses, including:
• Mold and environmental toxicity
• Lyme disease and chronic infections
• Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS)
• Long COVID and post-viral illness
• Autoimmune conditions
• Chronic fatigue and mitochondrial dysfunction
• Neurological and autonomic disorders
Many of these individuals have spent years seeking answers. Compassion, patience, and strong communication are essential for helping patients feel understood and supported.
Helixona is built around a culture of humility, curiosity, and service.
We believe the best medicine happens when clinicians remain open to learning and approach complex illness with thoughtful investigation rather than assumptions.
Our physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and patient guides work closely together to ensure every patient receives coordinated and compassionate care.
This environment rewards clinicians who value collaboration, intellectual curiosity, and meaningful patient relationships.
Helixona is intentionally different from many traditional medical environments.
Our patients often require careful investigation, evolving hypotheses, and collaborative problem-solving. Clinicians who thrive here enjoy working through complexity and remain comfortable acknowledging that chronic illness rarely follows simple formulas.
This role may not be the right fit for clinicians who prefer high-volume care or highly independent practice without collaboration.
However, for those who value thoughtful medicine, systems-based thinking, and the opportunity to help patients who have often been overlooked, this work can be deeply fulfilling.
As an Advanced Practice Provider at Helixona, your role centers on guiding patients through the ongoing phases of their healing journey after their initial diagnostic evaluation with the physician. Your work will focus on monitoring progress, interpreting evolving symptoms, and helping patients navigate treatment safely and effectively.
A typical week may include:
Patient Follow-Up Visits
Clinical Monitoring and Care Coordination
Treatment Oversight
Patient Communication
Team Collaboration
Documentation
• Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in California
• DEA license (or eligibility)
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
• Interest in integrative or functional medicine preferred
• Experience with chronic illness management helpful but not required
Clinicians earlier in their careers may be considered if they demonstrate curiosity, humility, and a passion for learning.
• $150,000-180,000 DOE
• Performance-based bonus opportunities
• Mentorship and training in integrative medicine
• Collaborative, mission-driven clinical environment
• Opportunity to grow with an innovative and expanding medical practice
Helixona was founded with a clear mission: to create a place where patients with complex chronic illness are truly seen, understood, and supported in their healing.
Our team believes medicine should be practiced with humility, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to helping patients recover their lives.
If you are passionate about practicing medicine in a thoughtful, patient-centered environment and are excited by the challenge of complex illness, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you.
