Functional Neuro Exam & Advanced Diagnostics Review
Seeing the Big Picture of Your Brain–Body Health
Healing is not just about individual symptoms—it’s about understanding how your brain, nervous system, and body are working together. The Functional Neuro Exam & Advanced Diagnostics Review is where that big picture comes into focus. Performed by Thomas Bakman, DC, this 30-minute visit integrates your InBody, RightEye, and ANS (autonomic nervous system) testing with a hands-on neurological assessment. Many patients describe this appointment as the moment their health story finally “makes sense” and they understand how to move forward in their healing journey. This exam is a critical step in developing and refining your care plan at Helixona.
What Is the Functional Neuro Exam?
The Functional Neuro Exam evaluates how well your brain and nervous system are communicating with the rest of your body. During this visit, Dr. Bakman will:
Assess balance, coordination, posture, and movement patterns
Evaluate eye movements, reflexes, and other neurological markers
Connect these findings to your symptoms and functional challenges
Tie the results back to your Eliminate. Nourish. Repair. care framework
Rather than looking at isolated test results, this visit shows how your neurological function, body composition, and autonomic patterns are working together—or working against you.
How Advanced Diagnostics Are Integrated
Prior to this appointment, you will typically have completed Helixona’s Advanced Diagnostics, which may include:
InBody – body composition and segmental balance
RightEye – visual and eye-movement–based metrics tied to brain function
ANS Testing – autonomic nervous system balance and stress response
During the Functional Neuro Exam & Review, Dr. Bakman will:
Interpret these diagnostic results in the context of your nervous system
Explain how findings relate to fatigue, dizziness, pain, brain fog, or performance limits
Show what is improving, what is compensating, and what still needs attention
Use these insights to help guide your treatment priorities and therapy choices
This is where data becomes direction.
Frequency: Tracking Progress Every Six Months
For most patients—whether dealing with complex chronic illness or pursuing wellness and longevity—this visit is recommended approximately every six months. These regular intervals allow us to:
Measure how your brain–body system is changing over time
Confirm that therapies are producing meaningful improvements
Adjust your care plan when needed
Identify early warning signs before they become larger setbacks
This is not a one-time test. It is an ongoing progress-mapping tool that keeps your care personalized and adaptive.
